For our A2 coursework, we have been asked to create a music video, a CD digi pack and a magazine advertisement for the CD itself. The main focus is on the music video and for this, we had to choose a genre of music to focus the video around.
We have thoroughly researched a widened variety of different genres in which we could possibly use as a genre for our music video. As each genre uses different media elements, stereotypical to the genre, to create connotations within the product, we knew we had to research properly in order to get a grasp of what we want our music video to look like.
As a group, we have decided that the genre we will go forth and use, will consist of a combination of indie rock. This is a common combination of genre's in modern music and we feel we can experiment more with ideas for our music video when using this genre.
