In order to create a well created, and professional music video, we need to follow a certain outline and order of when we want the performance and narrative to show. This is an essential part of the production process and what we need to follow when filming.
On our first day of filming, 24/10/11, we felt that the order we had arranged for the girls to be introduced (walking up to the male) didn't work as well if we wanted it to flow more. Therefore we have changed the order so that instead of it going "girl walks up - holds hands - walks along with male - hugs", it will go "girl walks up - hugs - grabs hand after - walks along with male". This works much better and makes more sense than our previous idea above. We will create another storyboard to fit with this.
Other Music Videos
- which involve techniques which we want to use
The editing techniques which we are going to use within our music video is a split screen created on the programme 'Final Cut Express' and continuity process by keeping the same male walking along the street but the girls change next to him. This is quite a complicated editing process which we have seen in the following two music videos;
Example - Kick Starts
This video is exactly how we want our editing to look and this video uses editing perfectly to display the flicking between people effect in a single motion to create a sense of numbers - as in more than one person. It is use frequently and, along with the split screen, it appears to be the main focus of the video and connotes that the meaning of the lyrics are not just felt by the singer.
The video only features the effect 0:25 seconds and it fits in with the beat with the beat which effective. Although it only really features this one flicking between people effect, it does feature the idea of one boy having lots of girlfriends which is like our synopsis.
The Wanted - Warzone
Between 2:25 - 2:46 we see different girls in bed with the same male. They have used professional editing equipment to create continuity between them. Although this is a completely different genre, the editing skills are brilliant
